ABSTRACT
Innovative Catalytic Strategies for the Direct Hydrogenation of Carbon Dioxide into Energy-Rich Hydrocarbons: Toward Sustainable Carbon Recycling and Fuel Production
Deng Lee*
ABSTRACT
The growing concentration of carbon dioxide (CO?) in the atmosphere has emerged as a critical environmental issue, contributing to climate change and energy resource depletion. Transforming CO? into value-added hydrocarbons through catalytic hydrogenation offers a dual benefit: reducing greenhouse gas emissions and generating sustainable fuels. This short communication highlights recent advances in CO? hydrogenation, including catalyst development, reaction pathways, hydrogen sourcing, and product selectivity. Key challenges and potential future directions, such as sustainable hydrogen production and selective C?+ hydrocarbon formation, are also discussed [1].
